I was sent an attachment form a friend, a spread sheet, but my computer won't open it?
    Hi,

So I got an e-mail from a friend with an attatchment but when I click the attachment I get a pop up saying,

    File Download.
Do you want to save this file or find a program on the internet to open it?

Name: (file name. Sorry I can't share it, it's a personal trainer thing, so I can't tell you the name.)
    Type: Unknown File Type, 24.0KB
From: (Numbers I'm assuming his I.P address.)

Do I just have to save it to my computer? I don't want to save it if it'll mess up and make my computer run any slower than it already does.

Any help much apprecieated thanks, and I'm not that good with computer lingo.

    Peace and kindness.

Ok, first, you cannot, not know the filename! When you go to save the attachment it tells you the filename if its not shown in the e-mail.

Without knowing what program created the file and what spreadsheet program you have on your system we can't tell you how to open it.

If you know the friend and know that he sent the file, then it should be safe to save and open it.

I like your thinking, but I'm confused, are you talking about the name of the file or the person who sent it?

I can't tell any one the name as it's a file that they created for a work out schedule. I can't give it out as they requested it to be so. So that's why I can't tell you the name. The program was a new spread sheet program than I have, so I had to save to computer, and reconfigure. But yeah, it's all good now.

    Thanks every body.
