    Electrical outlet not working
My bathroom electrical outlet on off switch broke. I replaced it and when I turned the switch on the lights worked but the fan switch did not. So I though I had installed the new switch incorrectly and changed the sides. When I turned on the electrical box switch in the basement I heard a little sizzle noise. I immediately turned it off and changed it. Now the switch does not work at all. Do I have to replace the switch in the electrical box? All the other outlets work in the house except in the bathroom and my daughters room. Should I call an electrician?

That switch in the panel is likely a breaker and sizzle is not a good sound with electricity. You may be safer calling an electrician at this point. A quick question though, did the light and the fan both work off just the one switch before?
