Murray Tractor 42" 17HP Briggs Hot Start Issue
It all started when I was cutting and the engine started smoking and felt like it was overheating. I found the cause was mice had built a nest under the engine area and this was the reason for the smoke. Everything was cleaned out and I relaced the plugs, fuel filter and air cleaner. Now the mower starts up fine, but when its warmed up and I shut the mower off, I am unable to restart the mower till it cools down again. Not sure what the problem is and am looking for any input. Thanks for any information that you can provide.

I have the same problem which is driving me crazy. Starts fine when cold, but can't shut it off. Won't restart. Replaced coil and no change. Let me know if you ever figured it out.
