    Free advertising?
I would love information on free advertising for my small residential/commercial cleaning business. I currently use newspaper ads, service magic, etc. of which I pay for, of course. CLOUGH if you are reading this, would LOVE feedback from you! Thanks a million! This site is awesome! I love it!

I posted this on a similar thread.

I have a list of things you can do:

If you have a myspace have a link to your business as your signature so others will see it.

I'm not sure if this is illegal: when I ran my own business I used to put my business cards in places like; diaper bags, in containers at stores and just anywhere I could jam the card in [I got a lot of leads this way].

I did it in a list of these places:

-I put them under the lids of formulas, coffee and anything that a lid could be opened that has a sealer to protect the food.
    - In the juice box packs, I'd slide it in between them
    -In books/magazines
    -In pockets of store clothing
    -In wallets, purses and backpacks.
    -In resealable packages
-In boxes. Boxes usually have a small opening which is perfect enough to slide a card through [i.e. diaper boxes]

Post flyers in laundry mats or community centers.

Post it a free ad kijiji.com or kijiji.ca [not sure if you tried this site yet]

Target a group. My target group were mostly mothers. So I would go to play groups and leave business cards on the table, in the kids section of the library by the other brochures.

It is really annoying because a screen comes up saying that "It's a naughty site, like head lice) OMG, where do they come up with those things. Lol My site is perfectly legal and safe MAIDS 2 ORDER 4 U 248-231-1945 - Home But all of those other ideas are so wonderful I can't thank you enough!!

You could also start networking with businesses, it doesn't hurt to try- you can probably land some sort of contract. Offer "discount" prices to seniors, go to those place where the elderly people group [I can't remember what they are called but they have red hats and drive small cars]- they usually have bulliten boards and just throw a stack of your business cards beside it or post a flyer with the bottom being ripable with your business number. Find any buliten board; library, playgroups, gas stations, sometimes even hospitals.

    Good luck to you,

Wow! You are wonderful, thank you, thank you thank you. I am so new to all of this. My husband was laid off from National Steel in November (here in Michigan things are really bad (economicall) so I just started cleaning a couple of house for extra money and ended up getting insured, bonded, licensed and things are taking off. But again, I am an amateur and your help is appreciated more than you could know. Thank you again, my new friend.
