Do you use any mouthwashes and maintain proper dental health?

A natural remedy that I know works is parsley, eating food with parsley in them and also just chewing on raw parsley.

There are also products available such as listerine strips which you can use throughout the day and are available in lots of flavours.

Tonsils can cause an odour as can your stomach. You should see your doctor and have these problematic areas assessed.

If you are brushing and flossing thoroughly every day you may want to add an antibacterial rinse such as Crest Pro Health to your regimine. There is a rinse called CLOSYS that is available through some dental offices which is meant to control bad breath for up to 8 hours. It also acts as an antibacterial and has no taste to it.

Stress is another factor that affects breath. If you are under a lot of stress your breath can be bad.

You can take a look at this site. http://www.freshbreath.ca/ People from all over the world actually travel to Toronto for this treatment. I have met the owner of this company and she has been doing halitosis research for years. You may find some answers here.

Good luck. I am well aware how this problem can affect your day to day life.

You could also try gargling or a tongue scraper. If you have a broken tooth , have eaten dairy, garlic, had coffee or smoke all of them give long lasting bad breath.

Infection can also cause bad breath.

I had visited twice to my dentist complaining of a terrible taste and odour, and x-rays did not reveal anything wrong.

Eventually I cracked a tooth, and a dental surgeon removed it, and there was indeed infection. Once the tooth was removed, my breath is normal again.

The surgeon said that there was a 'sack' of infection on the top of the tooth, and it looked like it had been there for a long time. I figure there was infection building for a good two years.

Maybe time to get in for another checkup, and mention the possibility of something being infected.

There is also an infection called H. Pylori that can cause terrible breath, this is treated by a gastroenterologist rather than a dentist.
