Will I get probation for theft under $150?
My boyfriend and I were arrested at the local Wal Mart here 2 days ago for stealing 6 X box games. My boyfriend unwrapped them and cut all the sensors out and he put them in my purse. I didn't touch the games but yet, I walked out with the purse in my hand so they arrested both of us. The Wal Mart loss prevention security saw him putting them in my purse and then stopped me when we walked out the front doors. We spent 1 night in jail and got out on surety bond. This was my first offense ever, first time ever in jail. I am scared to death. :o I am wondering when I go to court next month, will I more than likely get probation or will I get more jail time? The total for the games was around $115. Can someone tell me? Or have you been through the same thing?

I am somewhat concerned you seem not to feel you stole them, you said " I did not touch them" you were there and you carried them out.

And I question th 115, since a web search shows games used at 20 dollars each.

    But yes most likely probation

When the manager of the store rang all the 6 games up, the total was $115 and some change. I didn't touch the games,. he used my purse to steal them so I got charged with being there and "helping" him steal the games. I just don't want to go back to jail, I was scared and am certainly not fit for it.
