    Tretinoin/Retin A
Does Topical tretinoin (or Retin A) 0.1% lighten really lighten the skin? I did some research and it said that it was good for post-inflammatory hyperpigmention in people with darker skin colour.
I just wanted to ask around and see what others know about it.

    Thanks

Yeah it does. If you go to Google and read about the side effects, one of them is lightening the skin. But it also says it can darken skin in some people. So I wouldn't use it for just lightening the skin!

Hi, I was suffering from severe hyperpigmentation on my neck. I'm Ashanti's color and my neck was like India Arie's color. The only treatment that works for me is the use of retin-a cream(tretinoin) along with any lightener of my choice. If I don't use retin-a cream, no skin lightener will ever work for me at all. Retin-a is strong enough to deeply exfoliate and renew the skin. Then you use a lightening cream to maintain the achieved result. Also use a vitamin e pomade to prevent the skin from peeling too much when you use the retin-a. Prior to this I was wasting my money buying lightening product of all kinds. I get my retin-a cream without a prescription at xlpharmacy.com.
