    I want to know how to design a Generator

    If suppose I need 480v; 3phase; 60hz

    What is the KVA of DG
    And how can I calculate

    Dear Sir,

    One has to look into max.inrush current capacity of DG set and parallelly, how much is the load. Next is what is the max kw capacity of load which would be started on genset when all other loads are ON.

    Dear friend,

    Apparently, you require 250 kva dg set. This could serve around 300 ampere load at 480 volts. + additional safe margin @ 20% to be considered according to standard rating available above the said rating. (one has to see that dg would feed to max. Capacity load when other loads are running and also to see that it is not under utilised... under loaded considering high running cost.
