    MTD riding mower starting probs
I bought this used MTD riding mower last year and is good mower but last year at the end of the cutting season it wouldn't start so I put it away till this year. I put new starter in it last year and fixed the steering drag links. I get nothing when trying to start it and am thinking it's the solenoid so I went and got one from the local lawn and garden shop. The man gave me an Oregon manufactured replacement part with the number(33-337) but I referenced the Oregan part number with my MTD part number(725-1426) and it did not match, close but didn't match. The correct part number that Oregon suggested is(33-335) for my rplacement. My question is with the parts being so close in resemblance would it work or is it not going to work cause it's the wrong part. The man at the lawn and garden shop said it SHOULD work but I'm still getting nothing. Also when I put my negative needle from my volt meter on the negative teminal of the battery and the positive needle from my volt meter on the post with the lead that goes to my starter I get nothing. Should I get a reading on that post on the solenoid?
