Boy is this a tough question!

Strictly speaking, there may not be a clear connection.

People claim that politicians should be moral individuals in order to be elected. It's said that politicians who are not moral individuals (for example Rod Blagojevich), should be removed from office (as he was) or voted out of office. In that sense, there is possibly a link between moral character and politics.

On the other hand, there are numerous cases of politicians who did not have any moral character, and yet they stayed in office. This can happen when their constituents ignore their lack of integrity -- possibly because they are better off with this person in office than otherwise.

    Hello Joleen:

None, as far as I can see - certainly no more than the connection between truck drivers and moral character.

    Hi..

I don't think there is a connection, I think it's all about how popular you are.. if your face fits, whether or not the people believe the stories told and the promises made to them.

Once in office they do their own thing and rarely remember all the promises that got them there.

I'm sure if politicians were elected on their TRUE moral values, the candidates would be far less and look like they'd been hit by a truck.
