Tractor starting problems
I cannot get the starter on my Troy Bilt Lawn tractor to disengage. Even after I turn off the ignition switch it continues to crank over the engine even after it starts. The only way I could get it to stop was to disconnect the battery.
Any Ideas? |

Lawn tractor problem I have an MTD lawn tractor with a Briggs engine. I parked it and now it will not start. The battery is charged and cracks to a sticking point and will not go past that point. I can hand turn in by the sticking point and it will crack back around and stop at the same place....
This was my dad's tractor so I don't know a lot about it except that it is about 4 years old. I went to start it and the B&S engine barely turns over. It makes a buzzing sound and if it was a car, I would suspect it to be a starter motor or bendix gear but I don't know enough about lawn tractors...
Well it was running fine last time I used it, and I went to go mow today, and it was cranking slow (brand new battery by the way) and it only cranked for about 30 seconds total before the battery was dead. So I let it sit and tried cranking it again, and the starter was turning, but not cranking...
