    Prov. Ontario judgement from 1999
    Hi there, I have recently been contacted by a creditor (WFF) of who purchased a dormant debt from a company to which is no longer around Trans Canada Credit (thank gawd). They are trying to collect by way of threats. They reminded me that the old creditor sought and gained a Small Claims Judgement in 1999 against me and that I have to pay. I never paid a red cent, as they showed up at my work; and I lost my job as a result of that collectors individual actions back in 99'.

    It has been 10 years... Do I have to pay them & Can they come after me?

    It has dropped off my Credit Bureau, but now, they the new company that bought the dormant account (WFF); are causing me damage by enquiries every two months. Are they allowed to do this?

    This seems malicious and is causing me duress. Especially since I have become more mature and responsible and have quite a great standing with all majour Financial Banks & creditors.

    I've learned and have all my accounts in very good standing.

    Please advise and in Advance;

    Thank you sincerely!

    Do they have a Judgment against you?

    I'm sure you know the mature, responsible thing to do is to pay this debt (if it is yours), despite the time that has gone by.

    If you were fired as a result of their actions in attempting to collect the debt (not by virtue of the debt itself) did you take legal action against the creditor at the time? If those were the circumstances, you did have a very viable case.
