Calif. Set aside a Default Judgement request
I am one of the defendants in a lawsuit stemming from the sale of my property in which I carried back 10% of the loan. The Plaintiff claims I did not disclose the faults of the property ,claiming breech of contract and reimbursement of loan payments and funds spent. We are about to go into the mediation phase.
The Plaintiffs entered a request for default against me because I did not reply to their 1st amended verified complaint.
I am unable to afford legal representation so I am trying to do this myself. I was unaware that they required any further answers, as there was nothing "requesting answers" as there was in the initial papers (which I did answer).
I am not sure how I am supposed to word my request, or what the options under California civil procedures are.

    Thank You.

    Hello Ms:

I'm a BIG believer in do it yourself. However, there's a time when you should do it, and there's a time when you shouldn't.

This is one of those times. In my view, you have more to lose than an attorney would cost. Plus, given this area of the law, you don't have a chance in hell of winning.
