I think it is a sign of a lot of things.
Why on earth would you have unprotected sex, and wonder if you could be pregnant? Of course you could be pregnant! Having unprotected sex is how women get pregnant. That has sort of been the way it happens for quite a few thousand years now.
You'll have to pardon my sarcasm, but I don't understand why you would want to be pregnant. I presume that at age 16 you know that you could get pregnant, and if you didn't use protection, I presume you did this on purpose? What an insult to those of use who burned bra's to give children like you choice over your own reproduction.
Are you prepared for the consequences if you are? Can you support a child? Is the boyfriend prepared to be a father? Provide support, emotionally and financially for the next 18+ years? Are you ready to give up your freedom and be a good, loving mother to a baby who never asked to be brought into this world. Midnight feedings, for a.m. feedings, illness, constant attention and nurturing; everything in your life will revolve around a baby. Because you couldn't control yourself and have responsible sex.
If you are pregnant, I wish you well for the life you have chosen at age 16. If you aren't pregnant, for God's sake get yourself on the pill.
Please see your Doctor to determine whether you are going to have a baby. Nobody here has a magic calendar to determine if you are or aren't pregnant.

And to top it off, the screenname choice is... MILF, i.e. "Mom I'd Like to F____"
You really need to sit down with your parents and have a discussion, your priorities are a lot out of whack.
Children are not like dolls, they are stress, cost, require good role models, work, stress, more stress, more cost. You can not take care of all of these needs, financially, psychologically and emotionally when you are this age.
Just because your body is physically capable of having a child, doesn't mean you are ready.

Had to share the rep here, but you're exactly right Justwantfair.
More planning goes into deciding on a haricut, or nailpolish, than planning a pregnancy. Somehow it's never an accident to do the former, but somehow an accident to do that latter.

Your period might just be late this month... give it several more days and see if it shows up. The cramping and brown spotting could be a sign that it is getting ready to start soon. Certainly since you had sex you could be pregnant. If no period, then try a pregnancy test.
If it turns out you are pregnant, you will have some decisions to make. Let a trusted adult know asap so that you can get the proper care you will need. If it turns out you aren't pregnant, use this scare as an important lesson to learn more about your body and take the necessary steps to avoid it from happening again, or at least lessen the odds, in the future. You have to be smart about it and make sure you are protected every single time if you are going to continue to engage in sex.

"artlady agrees: When I was that age,we did not have the ready access that these kids do now.You did not have too many options.Isn't birth control readily available to girls this age?"
Very much so... there is no excuse not to use some type of birth control. The problem is, many people, teens as well as adults, don't think it will happen to them... it is always someone else who gets unexpectedly pregnant. Could be she wants to become pregnant, could be they got caught up in the heat of the moment and threw caution to the wind. Potentially a tremendous price to pay however.
