Why doesn't my leaf blower start?
Now here the short of it folks. I have a fairly new Poulan Leaf blower Bought last fall. It has started every time I tried to start it but now it won't even hit, Ive been careful to use on alcohol gas and the 2 cycle mix that cam with ti. I'm getting fire to the plug and its blue. I pump the bulb 3 X's Pull lt 5 X's then go to pump 5 times and pull 7. It doesn't hit 1 time. Any ideas? Ive pulled the plug out held a pro[pane torch on the electrode than replaced the plug but like I said I have fire. When I pull the plug out its slightly wet but not overly so.

Choke?
Air cleaner (try starting it with it off).
High octane fuel. You don't want alcohol, but you can't totally avoid it.
How was it stored? Fuel stabilizer? Fuel dumped?
The reeds damage easily. How are the cooling fins. Are they dirty?

Bad Gas dump old out of blower, pull plug, pull start cord 10/15 times to clear old gas in cylinder and lines. Get new fresh gas High grade or mid. Mix oil and the chances are it will run fine. Get back if that doesn't work

I have come to the conclusion that most of our 2 cycle blowers and weed wacker don't start in the spring is because the manufacturers have all conspired to drive us nuts. It happens so often this must be the cause. Well, maybe its also because the gas evaporates faster than the oil mixed with it leaving a thickened less flammable goo. Do what 21boat and kiss suggest. I would also add about 2 oz. of Seafoam carb cleaner to that new gas and just put a few ounces in the blower. Once the blower starts the extra cleaner will cleanse the carb.

Hey, I use mine in the winter to blow snow, but I put Sta-bil in the fuel sometime in the fall.

The most common cause is the gas storage problem the plastic gas tanks. They are the worst tanks to store gas in,especially in a storage shed.
The tanks heat and cool quicker than a metal tank and more condensation is created because of that. My old boating days with 2 cycle outboard, the newer plastic tanks are notorious in storage outside over winter period.
Sta bill is good but I learned to use up ALL the fall gas and start all new gas in spring. No problems starting blowers/lawn mowers/weed whackers etc.
