    Tooth Fell Out Last Night.
    Greetings,

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.

The last tooth in the back of my mouth on the top has been broken for some time. I could feel it was very sharp with my tongue, but it has not caused pain and I didn't do anything about it.

This morning I woke up and felt a big hole in the top of my mouth... then I found the tooth on my bed. It didn't bleed at all and I'm in no pain at the moment.

Do I need to see a dentist immediately? I unfortunately don't have dental coverage and would rather avoid the dentist if I can at the moment... though of course eventually I want to have these problems fixed.

What would a dentist do for me in the immediate time? Getting an implant or something is not in my budget at the moment.

I totally understand about not having any dental coverage at the moment, but I would be a big donkey if I told you not to go to an oral surgeon. Does the tooth have the root? This is important because the tooth might have just broken off at the top. You would have to get the root cut out eventually. Go to the clinic in your area, you might want to start calling now because you won't be getting an appointment until in a couple of weeks or so. I think you would sleep better too if you knew this won't happen to the rest of your teeth down the road. Call the clinic now! Good luck!

Wow, that's crazy! Id get it checked out... if it was never loose, then it probably broke and there is still a root in there, which will eventually get infected!

We say this on a lot of threads where money/insurance is an issue... but check with a local dental school as well. You can often get treatment much cheaper than seeing a private dentist.

But as the others have pointed out, you will need treatment asap to make sure there are no root fragments still there as well as to have your other teeth examined.
