I am not on the pill, but my period pretty much comes every 28 days. I should have gotten my period this past Friday and now it is Tuesday and still no period. I was so worried I took a pregnancy test last night and it was negative. I read the instructions several times so I think I did it correctly. I am currently training for a marathon (I have done 17 in the past) so I am aware heavy exercise can delay a period, but this seems really delayed. How much longer should I wait for my period to show up before taking another test? I am 40 years old and NOT trying to get pregnant. We use condoms always so I am praying I am just delayed due to the heavy training.

Hi, late periods can be caused by many things. If I were you I would call my doctor, especially since you are training for a marathon.

Home pregnancy test should be completed with your first urine of the day for the most accurate results.

Training can delay your period. Test again in the morning. If negative, then try to carry on until you possibly miss next months period.

Some women period do not show pregnancy in urine very well especially when heavy training or diets. Blood tests are required. But delayed periods are also caused by stress, extreme change in environment and such. However, as a spiritual worker. I'm a clairvoyant medium. I can tell you, You are not pregnant :) so stop stressing and your period is going to come. Remember, Stress stops and changes your period's time also. So the more you worry about "oh my goodness am i pregnant" the more your body reacts to keep your period on hold :)

You can also request a blood test.

Please do not tell someone that they aren't pregnant because you are psychic. We don't guess on this site and no one, not even a doctor, can tell someone over the internet whether they are pregnant.

We have to deal with facts here, not visions.
