    Bacterial vaginosis
Does anyone know if bacterial vaginosis can go away on its own instead of having to take meds for it? I have a recurrence for it and I'm tired of it. Help! Its so annoying and I don't understand!

You can go to the doc and get a script for Flagyl, but plenty of people swear by douching with 3 % hydrogen peroxide for 3-7 days every night. One person even posted information saying that in a study it actually worked just as well as any antibiotic. The info is in the fisr few pages ofthis forum. Hope that helps!

    1. Bacterial vaginosis will most times go away on its own, however, in order to avoid any complications, it's much easier to just get a script for an antibiotic. If you have recurrence, it's best to go to your doctor and get an antibiotic.

JazzOne: A "wash" with hydrogen peroxide has been "shown" to be effective, however, many doctors do not recommend this method due to different reactions. If the person who has bv has an inflamed or irritated vaginal wall, a hydrogen peroxide wash will make it MUCH worse. It's MUCH easier to go get a prescription for a generic antibiotic. They're cheap, and they're available.

So you mean like a script for a regular basis? Cause I just recently took antibiotics for it (clindamycin) but who knows the next time it will occur again, hopefully it won't! But I am just so aggravated by it.

If it's reoccurring, maybe it's coming from your partner if you've kept the same one all this time.
