    Emplyment info and child support
My wife's ex husband refuses to give her the information for his new job. His wages were being garnished at his last job because he did not pay. He has informed her that there was a change, but refuses to say where he works. This case is from the state of Tennessee. Thanks.

She doesn't need to know. If his wages were garnished, then the Tenn agency that garnished his wages has to know. She just needs to inform them that he changed jobs. They can probably find out from the Social Security Administration. If not, they can subpoena him for the information.

So all she needs to do is contact them.

I'm sorry. I forgot to specify my question. My question is, is he obligated by law to provide that information?

To make clear, he is not obligated to give that info to your wife, but he is obligated to give it to the child support agency. He may be obligated to inform them on his own, but definitely when they ask. They will be able to take out an amount to cover for the payments missed since he left the other job.
