Please post each question once, in one category, giving all the facts. Please don't post one question and then a second with different/additional information.

And, yes, a State Agency can seize your Federal Tax Return for a student loan in default.

First, you may not be aware of how these sites work. Generally you post a question and anyone who wants to try to help and feels that can will post a response. If the original post (OP) doesn't contain enough information to give a good answer, then additional information may be asked for.

Also this site allows people to use signature files. These appear automatically when a person posts something. So everything below the question Judy asked was her sig, not part of the response.

Finally, I have no idea what kheaa is. Different acronyms may not have meaning to everyone. So the first thing is to explain what it is and whether they have instituted a garnishment. Then we can give you an accurate answer.

I will also add, that you posted asking us for help. To question and antagonize someone trying to help you is really counterproductive.

I just found your other thread. Instead of posting different info in different places, posting in one place would have helped. I've merged your two threads.

So we can answer that yes, tax refunds can be attached to collect subsidized student loans.

It's the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, a Government program which offers tuition assistance from what I can find out.

I don't know if this is a "what if" question or if there's a judgment/garnishment (obviously).
