Teaching cerificate for Georgia or other felony
My son has been arrested three times for possession of majaruna with intent to sell. He recently reenrolled in college to continue his studies in education. He is in the state of Georgia and attending a junior college. He was given a letter informing him that he could not go to any local school in that district for any classroom study courses (student teaching) because of his record.

Could you give me and him any information as to his chances of getting a teaching certificate in Georgia with a drug felony charge? Do you know of any states who still consider the canidiates for a teaching certificate?

We are aware of the profession pardon boards, but are there some states more forgivng than others?

You would have to research this State by State - I am not aware of any States in which a felon will pass the background check.

I am in NY and a felon cannot be licensed to teach.

Before he spends any more time and money he should contact the various licensing agencies. People post all the time, following graduation, and find they cannot practice the profession for which they trained.
