Terrificly painful cramps and spasms while hydrated
I get tremendous cramps in my neck and back. Upper and lower. Sometime I seem to be close to passing out cause the pain stops me from breathing. I drink water religiously and it seems to make no difference. I know your going to ask so I measured my intake. At least 2000ml a day. Sometimes double that is summer. For those who don't know a coffee cup is close to 200ml. This is bare minimum. The pain is very debilitating but not everyday. This condition has been going on for years. The doctor said drink water. I did. I also take a potassium supp and electrolytes. I pee at least every hour during the day and 3 times at night if I stop drinking water at dark and go to bed at 11:00. The nocturia has been constant for years and I have been tested for diabetes recently to no avail. I have googled this countless times so I have tried all the obvious. I know you need more info but we have to start somewhere. I love the site by the way.

Can you tell us why you take Potassium? Have you been diagnosed with a deficiency in it? It is possible that this may be causing your cramps.

Never diagnosed with a deficiency. Potassium and magnesium and electrolytes for cramping is first line prevention according to Google.

I got that info here basically...

If you are prone to muscle spasms it may be because of the acids that interfere with the body's ability to absorb calcium. Lessen the intake of acidic foods like tomatoes and vinegar. Inadequate supply of potassium to your body is another reason for muscle spasms. Increase your intake of potassium, eat good amount of bananas, potatoes, soya flour, bran wheat, ready-to-eat apricots, tomato purée and such.

I don't take calcium because my doctor siad the words kidney stone a few to many times.

Sounds like you have what is called water intoxication. Some people drink water to excess.

Check into it... it can be fatal if you go too far one day.

    Best wishes, :)

Do you have a pinched nerve in your cervical spine? I do and have to take darvocet and get ultrasound at the chiropractor.
