    VA Child Support
Hello! We are responsible for paying child support for a 17 year old. We owe back child support and have no problem paying it but we just found out that he is living with his girlfriend. DOes the child support still go to the custodial parent even though she is not providing for the child?

Depends on the terms of your support agreement. If the child is not living at home, then go back to the court and ask for a modification of the order.

Why do you say we? Is more than one person responsible for paying child support to the custodial parent?

Many married couples refer to themselves as we even though it might only be an individual legally responsible.

We have 2 cars - but technically they are both in my name.

I will try not to make this too long but I went through a 3 year court battle with my ex with our 2 kids who are now 17 (Daughter) and 15 (Son). My son has been living with his dad since he was like 9 because I let him. Court battle was dropped due to judge thinking my ex was lying after 3 years...
