    Cutting brick/mortar for doorway
    hello
    hope someone can help me.
    most of you guys know when the woman gets tired of waiting she gets angry and tries to do herself. Or goes the other route and "complains" (hate gender terms that debase someone). Well I am at the former state and boy am I angry!:mad:
    we have approx 6' x 6' window that we (and I use that term "we" as it was his ides!) were wanting to put a double french door in there instead. Old windows old old and needed to be replaced anyway.
    there is brick on 3 sides, along sides of course and at the bottom, about 8" worth.
    I need to know how to cut the brick/mortar straight down-what exact tool, blade etc. to use to make it as easy as possible, once the window is removed.
    then I can get the opening ready and hire someone to put the door in.
    my other person (ggrr) is a re-modeler/construction guy, so I know more than most females. We had our own business too at one time so I really do know more than most.
    I figure the anger will help me get the window out ( :p ) but not sure what to use for the brick/mortar.
    any help would be appreciated. And advice too, other than wait for him... no! At least you don't have to live here :rolleyes:.

    Just another question where do I go to find out about manually getting up ceramic floor tile? Chisel, hammer and crowbar? :D

    Here's a tool to make a perfect cut for the brick, you can rent the diamond blade for it

    Rentals have them.

    A chipping hammer could be needed to finish the corners where saw can't cut. This can also double for the removal of the ceramic floor. A two fer...

    Instead of renting the chipping hammer maybe buy it and it will be cheaper in the long run. The oner I posted is one of the sizes we use on the job sites. It also is a hammer drill and a regular drill. Its only $70.00 Rental may cost half that or more and gas in car to return it.
