    Military Fraud
I married someone while on active duty military. My husband (at the time) was active duty. We had a son together. We divorced in 1998. I got custody of our son, and claimed him on my military pay therefore receiving BAH with dependent rate. I retired Jan'07 and moved to Maryland. My son's father is in Florida. Once I retired, he started claiming the full rate BAH as if his son lived with him. Is this defrauding the government?

It would appear so. Have you reported this so you aren't seen as going along with the scheme?

Well I didn't find this out until recently. I had my suspicions but I had never had the proof until he sent me his LESs for the last 3 months (modifying child support). I'm not sure who'd I would report it to? Does anyone know? Would I just go to the military law office? Finance?

I personally would start with the military law office - with the purpose of you not being implicated - and let them take it from there.

Thank you for the help! Someone I confided in also suggested I call the IG (Inspector General).
