Non Residence alien filing W-7 form
    Hi,

I have submitted my spouse W-7 form with Tax return last week. I am holding H-1 visa and she is on H-4.

I came to know after I applied, that I need to check the option d for the reason to apply for ITIN. But I have checked the option g as Dependent of Non- Resident Alien which applies for B1 visas.

Can Anyone please provide me information to rectify this mistake before IRS process the application with return.

    Thank you very much.

The reason d is not correct. Your spouse is never your dependent.
    Why did you file W7?

    Hi Mukat,

Thank you for Answering my Question..

I am filing taxes with option married and jointly. I need to have ITIN of my spouse to fill in the 1040EZ and 1040. So I have filed the W-7 form.

Please help me if I am wrong on selecting the option.

I have mailed the Notarized copies of spouse passport.
