    Temporary Work status
    Hi ,

When I can claim deduction based on Temporary Work ?

I came to chicago in Dec 2006 , for a short term assignment of 6 months. But
The assignment is still continuing... with each time I'm getting extension for 6-8 months..

Can I claim deductions for Temporary work assignment ?

    Thanks

You were allowed to deduction your daily living expenses for tax year 2007.

After that, the job, in the eyes of the IRS, was no longer "temporary" in nature, and, starting with the 2008 tax year, you could no longer deduct your daily living expenses.
