Please give us more details. Brand name of the valves in question, Describe them. What type of water heater? Gas or electric? Do you flush your water heater on a regular maintenance basis? Let us know! Tom

The sink valves are "PF" and the tub valves are Delta. We have 2 sinks in master bath and only 1 is having problems. The hot water valve on bath tub only trickles. Electric water heater and have not flushed it since house was built 3 years ago.

OK I disconnected the sink hot water feed and turned it on and there was pressure reconnected and the sink is fixed, the tub still only dribbles and if its on the rest of the house loses pressure shut off the hot water filling the tub and the house has hot water pressure?

What type of Delta bath tub faucet do you have? One handle or two knobs? How old is your house and is the piping galvanized? Let me know, tom

2 knob faucet. House is 3 years old, not sure of piping. Question, could the faucet cause the rest of the house to loose hot water pressure when turned on?

In a three year old home the piping should be either copper or plastic. So that eliminates clogged pipes and loss of volume.
What I would is turn the water off and open up the valve, (see image) remove everything down to the seats and springs. Now turn the water back on for a moment to flush out the supplies and the open valve body. Yoy should have a strong stream. If not click on back and tell me about it. If everything appears clear then reassemble and test. Better now? Good luck, Tom

Thank you so much for your time in helping me with this problem. I opened hot water valve and replaced what I believe is #6 on your diagram (stem unit assembly) while open I turned hot water back on and the pressure is still very low, turned on cold water while hot valve was apart and it backwashed the cold water through the open hot valve with lots of pressure. It appears not to be a faucet issue. HELP

Earlene,
Thak you for the feed back. Now let me show you how to prevent this from happening again.
For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures that are affected . Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back together the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my answer, Tom
