    Laptop keyboard
My laptop keyboard types gibberish on its own when I start typing. For example this is what it produces:

    I am testing the com]j,gepu]j,gete]j,ger for th]j,gee gesq.[]probem. I am tryin]j,gg to ]j,gesee w,here the problem li]j,gees

I am so frustrated as I do transcription for a living and it cuts down on productivity.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

My guess is that it needs cleaning. Remove the keyboard and washing it with soap and water. (plan on a few days without your laptop)

    [Do at your won risk]
I have done this with other things and have YET to have a problem but its still at your own risk. Keyboards, Mice, Cellphones, telephones, remove controls. Water is fine as long as there is NO current stuck in the item.

This is a general guide (you should look up your specific model)

Just above the keyboard, the panel should pop off

Carefully remove the keyboard (should be a few screws to remove)
    Unplug it from the laptop.

Now wash it in nice hot soapy water. Yes, soap and water!
Once clean. Mop up as much water as you can with towels, paper towels etc...
Once done, stand on one end (against wall or something) sitting on some paper towels for a few hours.
The use a hairdryer on it for a while. Now, sit it again on the towel over night.

Repeat this a few times. You want to MAKE SURE there no water left or it might short something.

    OR,

you could just buy a new keyboard.... OR you could get a USB keyboard and plug it in for now.

Wow, hot soapy water saturated with hard water minterals that will really jack up the micro circuits.

If you're going to wash it down with anything, wash it down with Distilled water or even rubbing alcohol, rotate and flip occasionally for equalized drying.

Sorry, didn't think of that. I don't have much of an issue with the water in my house so I didn't think of that :)
