    MEdical deduction for NR
    Hi,

I am US non resident alien and in 2008 I spent almost 6000$ for dental expenses
    Because I don't have a dental insurance. I am on a J1 visa.
Could you tell me if there is a way to deduct dental and medical expenses from my IRS taxes?

    Thanks

This is itemized deduction on schedule A.
You can deduct the expenses that are more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. Read: Your U.S. Tax Return: Itemized Deductions

I read that what you say is valid for US residents. But I am a Nonresident. On the instructions for FORM 1040NR
I am not able to find this part on medical deductions.

Yes, nonresidents do not get medical deduction. They also can not take tuition and fee adjustment deduction.

Agree that there is no deduction for medical expenses of a nonresident alien.
