    Do I need to pay tax as J2
    hi, all
    I am J2 visa holder who have the Work Permit Card and working in the US now.
    I want to know weather i need to pay the tax and how many taxes i need to pay??
    Its kind of urgent, so please help me!

    You will file nonresident tax return (just like J1) but you must pay FICA taxes.

    My situation is:
    I am a citizen of Peoples Republic of China with J2 visa. I was told by someone I don't need to pay FICA taxes for 2 years.
    Is that correct?

    You should call IRS and find out. My understanding is that you must pay FICA taxes if you work on J2.
