    Social Security Tax not withheld
    Hi, Experts,

I am here under J-1 visa as trainee and am non-resident alien for tax purpose.
Based on my employer's understanding that I am not subject to Social Security &Medicare Tax, my employer did not withhold any amount for Social Security Tax.

Based on these, can I say that I do not have any unreported social security and medicare tax ? I mean, can I put 0 (zero) in the column 16 of 1040-NR form?

    I really appreciate your advice.

    Sincerely,
