    What happen to active cultures in yogurt when you freeze it.
    I eat a lot of Yoplait yogurt... several people that I work with put their little cups of yogurt in the freezer.. and then they eat it frozen.. My question is what happens to the live and active cultures that are in the yogurt? Does it destroy them? Can anyone explain.. Thank you

    Yogurt cultures will partly survive freezing (about 10% of them). The yogurt will change somewhat in texture and color, but it will still be edible and the cultures will not be dead. Apparently, this is somewhat controversial, however.

    The live & active cultures die when frozen. That's why it doesn't say that on a carton of frozen yogurt.
