    No water in bathtub
    I recently instaled a new water heater and now no water comes out of my bathtub or my shower. What do I need to do to get this fixed.

    I'm not a plumbing guy, so the experts will correct me if I'm wrong.

    I'm not sure if you are getting absolutely no water, or no hot water. You get no cold water either? Unless you forgot to throw open a valve to the fixture, id at least expect to get some cold. Even if some debris got into the line, you should be getting cold water I would think. I know in my bath faucet the hot and cold mix inside the assembly. This happens when a disc with two holes turns to allow the cold to flow in, then hot and cold, then more hot... based on how the holes are shaped and spaced over the water supply inlets. So in my case, unless you were to have a really, really, big blockage at the faucet, id still expect to get at least some water through. This is for a fixture with a single lever control arm that you turn.

    So all you did was pull out the old, put in a new heater, plumbed into the old lines. And you get hot water in other places in the house?

    I am not getting any water,(hot or cold) in the bathtub or shower. I get hot water every were else in the house. That's why I am baffled

    Jetta,

    Are we talking about two separate fixtures when you speak of a tub and shower or just a tub/shower combination?
    What it sounds like is that in installing the new heater you disturbed some crud built up on the pipe walls and your valves drew it up and now it's blocking those holes, (inlet ports in the cartridge) that kp2171 as referring to. The answer would be to shut the water off to the valve or valves and open them up and check the inlet ports. While you have the valve open turn the water back on to flush out the supplies.     Well I firgured it out.
    I unsrewed the nosel that the water comes out of in the bathtub and I riged my water hose to the nosel and unhooked my water lines from the water heater. And than turn my hose on and flushed whatever it was clogging the pipes and now I have water I my bathtub. Thanks for the help

    Congratulations! What you have done is called "back flushing" and in your case it worked. Treat yourself to a cold one and a pat on the back. Cheers, Tom
