Buying a condo as an F-1 visa student
    Dear,

I am a european student starting a graduate study in September, which will take at least 5 years. Therefore I am looking to buy a condo in Boston, MA. I will be issued an F-1 visa during my study.

My question is whether it will be possible for me to buy a condo after residing one year in the USA. Will buying real estate affect my visa status? What are typical conditions with respect to downpayement, etc. Will I be subject to closing costs after 5 year, and the like...

Thank you very much for your consideration!

Buying property in US doesn't make it automatic on your visa. If you don't maintain your visa status by going to school full time, you can be deported like everyone else. I don't think lender would approve.. in most cases that I know of, purchases were made in cash.
