When your softener back washes it discharges a lot of brine water and I am sure that is not good for9r you septic system. Is there a way that you could make it not discharge into the system

I don't know where I could run it, it was running under the house which ran through a small ditch, that started to kill all my plants about ten foot around, the only option left is to run it about 100 feet to a ditch away from any plants or shrubs.if I do what size pipe should I use.thanks so much for your help septic troubles are very expensive.

If all you are going to be using it for is the discharge from the softener I would use a 1 inch PVC that should carry away the water and if it ever did get clogged with salt you probably could run a cable through it and clean out the salt.
