Should teenager get married?
I'm curious because my 18 year old sister is trying to get married and I still consider her a teen.

It's rare but teenage marriages sometimes work out and they stay married. They will face a lot more complications then most married couples.

I got married when I was 19, divoriced at 20, remarried at 21.
Still married now at 28, but after this whole expirence, my advice to ANYONE considering getting married is...
TO NOT TO... at least until you are like... 50 or something around those lines...
Go, live your life, love, learn, be happy. "Ball and chain" is not a figure of speech! IT'S TRUE!!

It's the mentality, not the age that is the most important factor. Once upon a time people would get married at 16 or 17 commonly and many of them are still together in their old age. No days however society has shifted and so has mind sets and mentalities. As a whole people are much less willing to put the time an effort into making a marrige work. It really just depends on the individuals and the circumstances surrounding them, and their willingness to perservere, even in the rougher patches.

It depends on what kind of person your sister is. If she is the type of person who constantlany breaks up and gets togther with guys, then maybe it won't work out. But if she is mature and has been with the guy for a long time and really loves him then maybe she is ready for marriage.

I married at 18 was split up by 19.
The way you feel at 18 and the way you look at life in general is going to be vastly different between 18 and 25.
Half of teen marriages end within 15 yrs. Half is quite a sobering statistic.
Teenage females who marry as more likely to be less educated and more prone to domestic abuse than older women.
