Why is it that you want a husky? Because they are pretty or because you know about the breed itself?
As a husky owner I can assure you that they are NOT good impulse dogs, or dogs to get just because "they are so pretty" or because "they look like wolves.", or any other superficial reason.
Honestly, I don't think you are ready to own a husky.
Huskies are highly energetic dogs, working dogs that need to be kept busy most of the time, time which you do not yet have to dedicate yet. A bored, lonely husky can be a destructive husky. Boredom and pent up energy is a recipe for trouble, both for you and the dog.
Huskies shed an inevitable mountain of hair about bi-annually. Will you or your mom, who does not want a dog to begin with, be able to handle when the dog "blows its coat?" And when I say mountain, I mean fists full at a time, not your typical breed loose hairs here and there.
Huskies are diggers by nature. It's in their blood. You may be able to curb it by giving them a designated digging zone, but its doubtful you will break it. If you or your mom values a hole free lawn, then this breed is off your list.
Huskies require a lot of training and have a deep set desire to run. The most well trained huskies can never, ever be trusted off leash. Their legs and need to run can quickly get them lost or into serious danger.
Knowing this breed and hearing how reluctant your mother is, I would highly suggest against this breed. If your mother isn't prepared for another dog I can only see getting this breed as turning into a disaster for you and the dog. Do your research on any breed before considering or actually getting it, and either adopt or always get from a reputable breeder to ensure sound health and temperament.
