    Am I Pregnant?
I have this weird thing going on with me. My periods were coming during the first week of the month and then I missed 3 at the beginning of May, June, and July. I had one at the end of July on the 31st and it lasted until like the 3rd of August. Now it's the 2nd of September and no period.

I took seven pregnancy tests between home and clinics in the first 2months and all the test were negative. I don't have insurance so it is kind of hard to get a blood test done, what should I do?

Well, let's start with your age. Are you on any birth control and if so what kind and for how long?

Have you been on any medications?

From what you tell me I believe it is time to call the doctor to see what is going wrong.

Don't be afraid to see a male doctor. They have seen it all before, and yours or mine would be no different from their wives. I only see male doctors when it comes to my yearly visit.

And, if you are sexually active it is extremely important that you get a check up once a year.

I haven't been on any birth control for years and I haven't been on any other medications either since march maybe. I am only 24 yrs old.

Another thing its not that I haven't been going to see doctors its just the ones I have seen won't do too much without a positive pregnancy test. I have resolved to all the doctors around here sucking and I don't know what to do. I went to the hospital because in the beginning my blood sugar was dropping every night and they thought it was cute to just say eat something and I was eating more then than I was before so to me it just didn't make since. I am not diabetic or anything so that is not it either

You need to make an appointment with a gynocologist. This specialty does not deal with pregnancy, but rather with a woman's health as a whole. An obstetrician is the one who deals with pregnancy.

Yes, doctors can suck, I understand that, but they also have to be given all of the information to make an informed decision about your health. You need to be the one in charge when going to to your doctor. You need to let him/her know of ALL of your concerns.

If you blood sugar is dropping it is correct to tell a patient to eat. So they were not being cute, they were being medically correct.

If you cannot get into a gynocologist, then you should make an appointment with a General Practitioner. These doctors take care of the whole body and will make referrals to any specialist that may be needed.

Well actually, since I had told him everything and also that I had started eating more yes he was being cute. I had given him every syptom and everything that I had done to handle the situation. I study health science majoring in health administration and have been working in the health field for the past 7 years so I know that he had a very poor bed side manner. It is not medically correct to make jokes about something someone is being very serious about. I went to the hospital to discuss something that was very important to me and see what advice I could get and they made it into a joke. I thought that maybe someone on here could give me an opinion as to what they thought could be wrong

Well, okay, I was not there so I did not know about the bedside manner, nor did you mention it. You only stated that your blood sugar was low and that you were told to eat. That I said was not being cute, but being medically accurate. Had I known the rest of the story I would have answered more accurately.

If you cannot afford to go to a doctor there are clinics that can help. From what I am reading into what you are telling me, you should have a vaginal exam done. There are many things that can cause what you are experiencing, including stress.

If you do not have insurance and cannot afford to care for your health, then maybe you should find a birth control method. That would be in your best interest now.

I understand I may sound abrasive to some, but if you really cannot afford a baby, you should not be having unprotected sex. It is up to you to make sure you are not pregnant. If you must, carry condoms. But you are responsible for your health, this is the only body you have, and the only body you will ever be given, it is up to you to make sure you keep it in tip top shape.

Make an appointment with a gyn for an annual and tell them what you just told us. I would venture to say that it could be as simple as a cyst convincing your body that your pregnant. It happens more often than you think. I agree with J about telling the whole story concerning bedside manner. If you don't tell us we don't know and can give you the wrong advice. Make an appointment at a free clinic if you need too... The exam can tell a lot more than you realise as far as pregnancy is concerned. Let us know what happens.
