    Trying to get pregnant
    Hello
My husband told me this morning that he was ready for a baby. We have been trying for a few months but I haven't gotten pregnant yet. Is there any kind of herbs that I can take to speed up the process? Or what should I do different for as our bedroom time?

You should chart your ovulation, for one.

Get a basal thermometer (you can get them at Target or Walmart or any drugstore) and take your temperature FIRST THING every morning.

Then, once you have an idea of how your ovulation cycle works, start having sex a couple of days before you ovulate, having sex every other day.

If, after a year, you have still not conceived, then you go see your OB/GYN about it. MOST couples take up to a year to conceive.

As far as diet and such: Exercise regularly. Eat healthily. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. Basically--just start treating your body as if you already ARE pregnant.

Just to add, you can even start taking prenatal vitamins. Here is a link below to a great website that has an Ovulation Calculator based on your last period. My husband and I used this tool to get pregnant, and it has worked for us twice now. Good Luck!

You can first start by having intercourse as close to your ovulation date as possible. You can use an online ovulation calculator to get the dates.

In addition, try to relax as much as possible. Worrying about whether you are pregnant or not on a consistent basis can actually disrupt your cycle, making pregnancy harder.

If you don't get pregnant in 6-12 months, both you and your husband should see a doctor to find out if there is something physically that is preventing pregnancy.

I agree with the above advice but would add a word of caution about herbal medicine. They are potent and may interfere with other prescribed medications. It is best to only take them under the supervision of a doctor. There are side effects that are not always fully described as they do not have the same regulations as FDA approved medicine.I have included a link for your convenience.
