    old 7 wire t-stat
    Hello,

    I went the whole winter without heat and I'm selling my house soon so I figure now would be a great time to replace the broken T-stat... all I know about my heat/air is it is all electric... this is the old setup

    white = W2
    brown = E
    Orange = O
    yellow = Y
    RE = R
    black = C
    green = G

    My goal is to replace the old digital one with a new inexpensive digital one

    I will gladly any questions... please tell me what to do... Home Depot is no help at all.

    You will need a thermostat intended for a 2-heat/1-cool heat pump system. The wiring should be pretty simple, as the terminal designations you listed are fairly standard. Be sure to follow up the wiring installation by checking the instructions for setup options.

I switched to a new Hi-Tech stat from HAI called the Omnistat2. It connects to my PC and has a color changing background display. Very nice unit. However it can draw up to 60mA at 24VAC. My old thermostat worked great, it was an old Janitrol. It was a "power robbing" type, but my DMM says it...

I've set up a 240V heater in my garage but due to space restrictions it's mounted on a shelf about 7' above the floor. To keep the air circulating I've added a shroud to the intake of the heater with a 6" round duct to the floor for a cold air pick up. The heater's element seems to be running...
