    DWV Layout and I'm Clueless
Hello all, I'm doing a remodel of my home and need to re-do the plumbing for a bathroom. I have no clue as to how to set up my DWV and any layout advice other than it needs to slope towards the "way out of the house" would be extremely helpful. I'm trying to save a few bucks by doing it myself due to a "possible" upcoming layoff. JOY! Here is a picture of what I have going so far.

    Hi Dr Carrico:

Need to know if this is on the first floor? Need to know what plumbing code prevails in your area... UPC (uniform plumbing code), IPC (international plumbing code) or maybe another one like mine... the USPC (uniform state plumbing code)? Call a local plumbing inspector and ask him if you don't know. While on the phone ask him if wet venting is allowed in your area. If wet venting is allowed it will save a bit of work and money for you... ;)

Lastly... are any pipes near here? If so where in relation to the bathroom fixtures are the pipes.

I put together a layout to get you started thinking. I assumed pipes are accessible from underneath. This is a wet vent layout... the 2" vent at the sink acts as a wet vent for the toilet and the shower, and as an individual vent for the sink itself. The 2" pipe need to connect into a 2" vent or larger. It may or may not be accepted in your area.

Pipes pitch at 1/4" per foot of pipe. Vents pitch back toward drain at 1/8" to 1/4" per foot of pipe. ALL pipes should be hung every 4 feet. End cleanout should be installed at all changes of direction if cleanouts will be accessible in the future.

Let me know answers to all my questions so we can confirm or change diagram below.
