architecture, processor and graphics (v3035tu and v3029au)
I need information regarding the intel and AMD processor.. what architecture Intel core duo processor T2250 @ 1.73GHz (compaq presario v3035tu) posses? Is it 64 bit... what about compaq presario v3039au...

what is the difference between compaq presario v3029tu and v3035tu w.r.t processor speed? Which one is better? The 3035 has 1.73 ghz, FSB: 533 mhz, 2mb L2 cache.. while the compaq presario v3029tu is AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 (1.6GHz) and FSB is 533 mhz and 512 kb L2 cache cache.. which one is better? There is a price difference of around 10 thousand... however it does not matter much... though matters

one more difference is that 3035 has Intel graphics media accelerator (GMA) 950 while 3029 has Nvidia GeForce Go 6150... again which one is better... I 'm particular about this as I need to do some graphics intensive work... to be specific, I need to use program like COOT, PyMOL, rasmol etc...

    Hi Sagar1301,
If you are keen about battery life and not so much worried of multi-tasking I should suggest you better opt for the Interl Core Duo (although officially it is not "Windows Vista capable")...
    :)

    Hi dexter249,
    Thank you for the reply...
How AMD is better for doing multitask than intel when it has a higher cache and clock speed... can you give me some comparative details between the battrey life of AMD and intel processors...
Just to tell you that I'm planing to buy laptop asap... but I'm confused due to so many options... not sure for which one to go... I need to use the laptop for the application which will require high performance processor... for the same reason I'm planing to upgrade the RAM to 1GB from 512MB ( in any case)... so the thing is that I'm looking for a laptop which has 1GB RAM with >1.7Ghz clock speed, at least 2MB cache and bus speed >500MhZ, >80GB hard disk and DVD writer... other thing let be general... this is according to intel processor... what will be the equivalent in AMD processor...

I would look for a AMD Turion X2 processor. In my opinion, this is the best mobile processor currently on the market. Intel does have a Core 2 Duo Mobile processor due to hit the retail channels very soon, but I'm not sure how it will compare.

Take a look at the Compaq 6000 series. They have models with Turion X2 processors up to 2Ghz clock speed with 1600 FSB and 512K L2 cache.

I would shy away form the Intel graphics media accelerator (GMA) 950 as it is the lowest form of video acceleration. The GeForce Go is the better choice there.

I was wondering whether the 512K L2 cache will be sufficient for me... I have not worked on comp. with AMD processor... but in intel I worked with 2MB cache comp... else the 6000 series has really good models... however they are new and I checked they are still not in market... is it true

They may not have reached the retail stores yet, but I think they can be ordered. AMD is better for multi-tasking, because they have multiple chaneels between the processor and the motherboard.

What does the author of this app say about requirements? Lots of cache is fine, but its not a deal killer. There are other factors involved.
