    Red brick home
My new construction red brick home built in July of 2008 has white spots on it. What can this be. It seems to be speading over the entire brick on the home.

Efflorescence is a white powdery stain on masonry, brick and stone. It is the result of water getting in and pulling the water soluble salts out. Masonry needs masonry sealers to stop efflorescence. You can try just power washing, it will help but it may continue to happen for quite some time.
