No, I don't. Ever heard of trophy wives and gold-diggers? No, just playing. Kind of. But some people get married because they love. Some get married out of necessity, for instance to be eligible for health insurance. There are numerous reasons.

It SHOULD be just for love.

Think about arranged marriages where you DON'T get to choose your mate.

Of course not. Ever heard the someone say "he's not the greatest guy in the world but he is a great father"

Marriage is about support. It is a legal contract, nothing more. Love is a bonus. You don't have to be married to love someone and you don't have to love someone to be married.

To some, marriage is about religeon or a connection, but love and marriage are exclusive of each other.

If they are only considering love, they are being foolish. You can love someone very much, but that does not make them the best partner for you.

You first and foremost need to be friends before love can work it's magic. Love comes and goes, so does sex, but best friends will allow you to last through the tough times.

    Good post donn.

There is a reason boards like this exist, because people are indecisive and make the wrong decisions.

In a perfect world, everyone would find their true love, have the strength to believe in them and their relationship and marry them, have as many kids as they want, agree on everything major and live happily ever after, while constantly challenging each other mentally and satisfying each other physically and emotionally.

Because we don't live in that world, people marry for a variety of reasons, good and bad..

We shouldn't just marry the person we love, but the person who brings out the best in us, who will unleash our confidence, and will be our rock - through the long years ahead.

After a while, marriage becomes less of the "inlove" bit and becomes about companionship and friendship.

If you marry the person who is the love your life, you are lucky.

If not but this person gives you all that you need from a relationship, You are with the right one.
