Toyota 3vze engine
I blew a head gasket and need some direction on how I should proceed. I'm down to the cam cover and am not sure what to do next. I've been pulling wrenches for a long time but never did a overhead cam engine. HELP

Pay close attn to #6 drivers side, and #1 pass side. They are the most suspected cylinders. Clean the deck best you can and use copper coat on the gaskets due to the erosion on the surfaces.
Send the heads out to be checked for flatness.
I have the manual, I can send you a pdf file. It's 2.5MB. Too large for here. Need your email to send. You'll thank me (or at least rate my answer) later.

Pdf sent.
And a word of advice. We don't disconnect the exhaust cross over pipe. Just the pass side down pipe. Pull both heads together WITH ex manifolds and the water bypass pipe under the intake.. Speaking of which, in the block valley sits the knock sensor. It is highly advisable to replace the sensor and the wire harness for it while doing this job.
Make a "note to self" on reassembly. Don't forget the injector ground bolted to the back of the pass side head. The most important over looked re connection.

Is the manual specific to one vehicle, or a general guide? I just bought a 89 Toyota V6 pickup truck and having things on paper can save so much time. Id like to get the file as a reference please.

Don't understand the latter part of your question, but yes the easiest way is to pull it all out (with 2 guys) at one time.
Back in the recall days we were R&R'ing heads in 4 hrs this way.
I'll do what I can on head documents.

I have 1988 3vze 6 cyl engine and could really use a manual. I have rebuilt the engine after somebody else took it apart. Head and block went out to machine shop and new gaskets so putting it back together (and not missing anything) would be real nice
