    Issues w/shower and faucets
I have several issues with my shower. Where to begin? We are staying in the house of a friend and we wanted to fix the problems for them:

1.) The handles are leaking water non-stop (Continuous fast drip).

2.) When I pull the diverter up to activate the shower, water comes from the shower head and the faucet (about half and half).

3.) I haven't been able to identify the maker of the faucet.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Jason

See the Image below and tell me your faucet looks like this if it does then you would need to remove the stems replace the seals and the washers, Thanks.

Jason, can you snap a picture of your faucet and post it ?

It could be an easy fix. But there are way too many faucets to correctly guess yours... Please, respond

    Jason...

If you remove the handles you will find a hex-shaped nut at the end of the stem unit... these are called PACKING NUTS. Usually, you can turn these clockwise about a 1/4 turn or so to stop the leaking. Worst case, you remove the packing nut and install a couple turns of graphite packing rope in place and then install the packing nut and tighten until the leaks stop.

You may need a handle-puller as pictured at Afaroo's post... ;)

Be careful here though as this place is not yours and if you crack a fitting or something else you could turn this into a big job!

Let us know if need more...

Johns image (less the center diverter) would seem to be what you have,
[QUOTE1.) The handles are leaking water non-stop (Continuous fast drip).][/QUOTE]
Simple fix! Remove the knobs and chrome cover plate and you will see a nut on the stem. This is called the "bonnet packing nut". Open the hot side 1/4 turn. Snug up the packing nut until the leak stops, careful! don't over tighten. Do the same for the cold side. That should take care of the leaky stems.
2.) When I pull the diverter up to activate the shower, water comes from the shower head and the faucet (about half and half).
You indicate that you have a spout diverter. Since they are so inexpensive pick one up at a big box store and replace it.
I haven't been able to identify the maker of the faucet.
Since we won't be replacing any faucet parts the brand name is unnecessary.
Good luck, Tom Whadda ya know Mark! We posted on top of each other again
