No income, can I still file taxes
I was off work due to a work related injury for the last year. I drew workmen's compensation but that is not taxable income. I have mortgage and home equity interest, and medical costs that I would normally deduct. Also,I am single,no children or husband. My question is, can I still file to get some money back? I hope this is not a totally stupid question but I do not want to miss an opportunity to gain some money. Thanks to all that reply!

I said this in an earlier post, but there is a great resource available to you in your area, called V.I.T.A. (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.) It is absolutely free and is usually located at your local library or post office. Look it up on line. I don't think that you could qualify for earned income credit, but I don't know. At any rate, give it a try.
