    Sinuses! =(
Having major sinus problems. Long story short... because the veins in my nose are so close to the surface, I cannot blow my nose or even let out a good sneeze without a nosebleed. The last time I tried to blow my nose I ended up in the hospital with the blood running out my eyes and nose.

anyway, because I can't manually clear my nasal passages (yes I've tried picking too! :p), I have a LOT of drainage, which in turn causes me frequent sinus infections. (I have to cough up tons of mucus each morning routinely, and I live on Mucinex.) Usually the sinus pains go away quickly and its fine. But the other day I woke up and the whole right side of my face hurt to the touch and it felt as if I had a sty all the way around my eye... even my scalp was tender. I took a ton of sudafed while at work and it seemed to help but I made a doc appointment anyway.

today the doctor told me I have a bad sinus infection and sent me home with 7 days worth of an antibiotic called Ketek. I took the first dose and decided to look up the side effects online. I came back with tons of sites about lawsuits where Ketek has causes liver failure and death in multiple cases even after only 2 doses.

Needless to say, I am not taking anymore of it and I'm not sure I trust my doctor to give me good medicine now.

So my question is, does anyone know of any good home remedies or good OTC medicines that work better than sudafed for severe sinus problems? My cheek is sore again, I can feel another bad day ahead. x_x

I would go to a different doctor. You need some sort of medication that will kick the crap out of this infection fast.
