Once the street water line broke, after the repair work is done, I hear rocks coming to my water heater, in few day my water heater is broken.
I replace with a new water heater, ever since I have sand in my tap water , I drain my water heater, I am still getting sands in my tap water .
I have to clean the filter in each faucet.

How can I get ride of this problem?
Is this water company 's responsibility?

It happens quite often that you get sand in your water lines after City worked on water supply in the street. Sand should eventually settle down as you keep using your plumbing system. You may want to try to flush your heater out but problem with sand is that every time you open water it starts floating around in your heater. So it could be endless job. In any case, I don't think you had to replace the heater.

Anyway, I would remove aerators and kept using plumbing fixtures w/o aerators for few days. It will eventually flush out by itself. Also you will have to clean shower heads more often during that time...

If you want to be more diligent and prevent this form happening again than you can install simple filter on incoming cold water line. All sand will get trapped there. Also, if you have pressure regulator, like Wilkins 600, than it has a small built-in filter that could prevent some sand from traveling into your house plumbing system. You can also use them both, the filter and the pressure regulator in tandem. See the pics...

Is this water company 's responsibility? Should the water company foot the bill to fix my plumbing and aucets damaged by sand?
